Tutorial 2: exam > bill > claim
Walk through an exam for Fred Flintstone.
Create an exam
Choose a diagnosis (the diagnosis can changed later)
An exam record is created
1. You can also add exams directly from the EXAM window by choosing a diagnosis template from the top right window. Most doctors just leave this window open all day and rarely go to the PATIENT window.
In this example, the meds and history have been auto entered since the OD Link entrance forms were used.
Add anterior and posterior segment findings
Write a patient plan
Bill for the Exam
Make any other changes to the Final Rx
This window opens if the "Findings" and "Final Rx" are different. This is an opportunity for the Doctor to review both. If there are no discrepancies, this window will not open.
Transaction is created
The Doctor is now taken to the Transaction Window to confirm billing. The front desk could create the claim or the Doctor can do it with 3 clicks in 10 seconds
1. Click Medicare (or insurance payer being used)
2. Patient owes "0"
Or, go to the manual and search key word "Exam."
Exams can also be created from the Exam window
Click a template (you can add to it or change it later).
Use the entrance form as a "chart"
Patient number (and optional bar code)
If your are using your own entrance forms, write the patient number on the form.
