How do I receive images with Chatty?

Chatty can receive MMS (picture files) via text message!

MMS Image in Chatty

When a patient sends an MMS to Chatty, a button appears in the conversation window, with a filename.  Image file names typically end with extensions like “.jpg” or “.png”.

Click the filename button to open the image file in your browser.

Image and Text

Chatty displays the image and also attempts to extract the text from the image, and shows each line of extracted text beneath the image.

This makes it easy for you to highlight the text values, copy them (right-click “Copy”), and paste them (right-click "Paste") into OD Link.

Chatty uses advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) to extract the text.  The accuracy of the text can be affected by image quality and other factors, so please check the text against the image whenever using this feature.  Extracted text that has a low confidence has an asterisk (“*”) beside it.

Save Image

Download the image by right-clicking on it, "Save ..." the file to your computer, then drag/drop or upload into OD Link.

Return to the regular conversation view page either with your browser’s Back button, or by clicking “Home” on the Chatty navigation bar.
